I MUST Be Bored

Chickens chickens in my yard
where you scratch the ground is marred
you flap your wings and crow out loud
with dainty hens and roosters proud
you jump and run and dance and play
these are the things you do all day
looking out to see you 'round
I'm watching the chickens peck the ground
(I must be bored)

lol, this is terrific, 'boredom' may not be such a bad thing after all, it's funny (not as in ha ha, but peculiar) have you ever noticed that sometimes when you try so hard to write some deep thought provoking poem that you think might be the genesis of a new emotion, you read it over and see only 'chicken shit' after all the hard work? While on the other hand, when you just relax and write down whatever comes into your head without even thinking about it, what you produce can really be quite good? Poetry can come from some 'odd' places, and to be honest I quite enjoyed this write; it's amusing, unpretentious and totally brings back memories of my childhood watching chickens in the yard; they are fascinating creators D
quality write, Jeanine Q-M, enjoyed
Christopher,
Thank you for the compliment. I know what you mean. But this time I had just written a poem for husband, who's father had just passed, and words were still just swirling around in my head while I was watching my chicken. I just couldn't help myself. Plus I needed to write something with a little levity. Thank you again so much for you words, I really do appreciate your comment.
