Poem -

Kiss Of Acacia

Kiss Of Acacia

Locked in a cold embrace
In a familiar tongue, she whispers
Till her wistful breath I wakeΒ
Where distance holds still space and time
For I am someone else
We saunter along the windswept trees
As the ambience exhumes the life in me
From a sequestered era, I remember her face
And in this revivified heart, I hold her name
We converse through eyes and mine immersed
In every word she speaks
She shows me the rope that sealed her demise
When I betrayed her soul and left her to die
Nevertheless, her lips forgive
As her wound I genuflect and swoon to kiss
With the freighted affliction of guilt inside
She walks with me
Through the past; her touch reveals
How we flourished and how sin divides
How she waited for me to find
A way to be at one again
When she gently lamented
Come with me to the otherside
Join me, in the light of death
