LEFT BEHIND

Perhaps I'm not all there
Old and worse for wear
I've been left behind, forgotten
No longer in your hair
One day, they dropped me off
They never looked back
They didn't stick around
Or even help me unpack
They said; This is for the best
They'll take real good care of you
We'll come around and visit
Whenever we pass through
The days dragged on
They come and go
As I searched for a familiar face
Staring out my window
The memories are all that's left
As tears escape my eyes
I'm waiting for death to show
As I've come to realize
I've been left behind, forgotten
There's nothing here for me
I just wanted to be needed
And be left some dignity

A reminder to not forsake the elderly who can be very lonely. Memorable poem.
Thank you Shirley Rebstock!
My Dear Gayle,
These memories now haunt me, abandoned and left behind;
I question of my sanity, for I have a troubled mind!
I waited by my windows, looking for your return;
But as daylight turned to darkness, my heart then started churn!
Feeling no hope now for tomorrows, my teardrops fall so free;
I feel like life leaves me behind, and the Reaper comes for me!
I needed to be needed, I hungered for pure love;
So I seek now to finally find it, in the Heaven's up above!
Hugs, Peace and Love,
Larry xxx
