Like a Flower

So beautiful, so delicate, so graceful, so soft, so sweet
Like the flowers that bloom I remember my grandmothers voice
She sings in the breeze of the magnolia trees
I can smell her sugar cookies baking, while she hangs up her laundry
Later she rolls out the dough for her rhubarb strawberry pies
I help her fill up the cookie jar
Her hair tied back in a braid, her eyes smile with love
She is more than my grandmother she is my mothers reason she brought me into this world
When I fall down she shall pick me up
And the world will spin around and round like a merry-go-round
With most lovely thoughts of grandma and mama
On this bouquet of flowers left upon
their grave, with love, Happy Mother's Day
