Love Long Ago
Many years have passed, I look back, I can see the mountains in my mind
The waters that were red with blood, the world I knew no more, it had died
Once long ago a love, my soldier was so true, he would send me petals from a lily pad
In an envelope, with a Japanese fan, with elegant birds painted, in gold and silver, it was divine
The volcanoes erupted, the thunder roared, lightening would strike, cannon balls fired
These feelings, across the million miles of time, a love long ago, now, Â just kept inside
This bamboo box, made by my lover over seas, he was a military hero, my shining gallant man
Now, just my memories tucked away, the love, the lust, lost in space, I still feel his hand
Across my face, he would brush it gently, wisp across my lips of ruby red, I still feel his eyes shine in mine
My silk dress I wear on our anniversary, it has gold threads, beads and pearls, made especially for me
I listen to our favorite music, and dress up in this gown, holding onto mop doll swinging her up and down
Pretending she is you, and I will survive, though cold inside, my heart I left with you
So long ago a love so true, as true as the ocean of blue, I leave a kiss for you, on the pillow top of our brass bed
When the wind blows, it calls your name far from here to there, I shall always care
I can still feel your fire, your desire, the tiger of my dreams, your sword in my pain
Love long ago, never fading, always waiting, until our souls meet once again
