Poem -

Look how beautiful death is

Look how beautiful death is

All men wept while lifeless beauty slept
Crying; Nothing this ripe can survive nature’s tests

Her beauty encased as to not go to waste
Look how peacefully she rests

White virgin lilies on skin just as bright
Scattered round her breasts

Never mind her despair, look at her hair!
Only death can make a maiden so fair!

It must be preserved, untouched and observed
For no living woman could ever compare

Of course, to honor, to remember, and love her
Truly, a tragedy - now look at that beauty!

Sad Girl

(In case it wasn’t clear enough, this poem is meant to be satirical. I’m not promoting society’s obsession with dead women.)
