Look how beautiful death is
All men wept while lifeless beauty sleptÂ
Crying; Nothing this ripe can survive nature’s testsÂ
Her beauty encased as to not go to wasteÂ
Look how peacefully she restsÂ
White virgin lilies on skin just as brightÂ
Scattered round her breastsÂ
Never mind her despair, look at her hair!
Only death can make a maiden so fair!Â
It must be preserved, untouched and observed
For no living woman could ever compareÂ
Of course, to honor, to remember, and love herÂ
Truly, a tragedy - now look at that beauty!

(In case it wasn’t clear enough, this poem is meant to be satirical. I’m not promoting society’s obsession with dead women.)
