The Mandolin Keeps Playing

The Mandolin Keeps Playing

Just one of the good ole boys in the band, strumming his fingers on the strings

He sent me to my knees as he played the good old country gospel

Down that country road where I would meet him in the corn field of my dreams

A seed of happiness and the love of a passionate good ole country boy and me

Just a little farm girl with a heart that was taken so young by the playing

Of your Sweet Adeline of time and hugs and kisses with wishes of you in my arms

At all times we would keep time with the mandolin in my ear I fell dear to you

In your country blues with my mood I was swoomed to your taking my eyes

Adorn you while you strum a little bit more send me to the cornfield with you

I'll be picking all the corn and panting like the dog in heat I can't get enough

Of your mandolin it plays me all the night just not enough of you
