ME

ME

If you look beyond the outer me

And take a look inside

You'll see ME, who I really am

When I no longer need to hide

I'm the ME, you never knew

The ME, you couldn't see

Until I found the courage

To finally be ME

I was evolving, changing

Slowly, by and by

Until the creeping catapillar

Became the butterfly

Now that I'm out of hiding

You don't like what you see

You wanted who I once was

The shallow outer ME

But I won't go back to what I was

Not for you, not for anyone

I'll be ME, who I truly am

For I've only just begun

It really has more to do with being authentic, being ok with who you are and not allowing anyone to shape you into they're idea of who they think you should be.
