Poem -

Moving on without you

I sit in the dark, to hide my tears.
The dark is my friend, it mellows my fears.
When I visit your grave, I'm empty inside.
I can't let you go, you stay on my mind.
My heart says to move and get on with my life,
but I can't seem to do it, without you as my wife.
Moving on without you, is what I must do.
My days will be long, my nights will be blue.
Fear becomes anger and anger becomes hate.
I hope to control it, before it's too late.
Life is not fair, when it comes to death.
I was there by your side, when you took your last breath.
Help me with this, I know you are there.
I can smell your perfume and your breath in the air.
Help me my love, help me take that first step.
Help me control, all the tears that I've wept.
Wait for me at the gates if you can.
We can enter together, both holding hands.
If you can't wait, go if you must.
I'll see you in time, in God I will trust.
