Poltergeist

This is a story of a poltergeistÂ
He was called three times riceÂ
a poltergeist that wasn't very niceÂ
but  very good at throwing diceÂ
He used to be a gamblerÂ
In his previous life
He knew the tables far too wellÂ
Especially when he scored snake eyes
With the power of his dice.Â
But he had rigged the dice this night Â
This in turn ended three times rices life Â
Now on this one stormy nightÂ
A little girl her name is MegÂ
Slept soundly in her comfy bed
Half asleep and half awakeÂ
She felt a hand across her faceÂ
The room was as cold as iceÂ
Her breath hung in the still of nightÂ
She opened up her eyes to see
a light that shone so brightly
The funny thing about that nightÂ
Was all the candles were alightÂ
She snuffed them outÂ
before she went to bedÂ
After saying her prayersÂ
at the foot of the bed  Â
then one by one the candles rose in the airÂ
she shuffles back frightened in despairÂ
the smoke begins to fill the airÂ
and spells out a nameÂ
above her chairÂ
this name it did say
three times rice
then suddenly
out goes all the lightsÂ
The little girl,Â
remember megÂ
laid on her bedÂ
and there she remainedÂ
quite stand fed
She closed her eyesÂ
and counts to tenÂ
said to herselfÂ
âplease, not againâÂ
âYou are not realÂ
My mother said,Â
Youâre just my imaginationÂ
Playing tricks with my headâÂ
This is what Meg finally said
The windows they did rattleÂ
The curtains, they did blowÂ
The door slammed shutÂ
Leaving poor old megÂ
With nowhere left to goÂ
And on the windowÂ
Drew through his breathÂ
A message was written Â
A message for MegÂ
Telling her not to listen Â
The message readÂ
âDonât listen to your motherÂ
Iâm real, donât you see
Look out of your windowÂ
Iâm hangingÂ
From that old oak treeÂ
She got out of bedÂ
Her feet hit the floorÂ
Grabbed her robeÂ
As she walked past her doorÂ
She walked to the window Â
And much to her frightÂ
she opened her windowÂ
and looked out into the nightÂ
The wind it did rustleÂ
as it blew through the treesÂ
the tree creaked so loudlyÂ
as if begging her pleaseÂ
and there in the shadowsÂ
just as he had said
a body swung carefreeÂ
she knew he was deadÂ
Suddenly in the dark of the nightÂ
He lifts his headÂ
And gives meg a frightÂ
Goosebumps form  on her porcelain skinÂ
Her heart starts to beatÂ
As she walks backwards in hasty retreatÂ
Nearly tripping over her own two feet
She climbs on her bedÂ
And slips insideÂ
Pulls the covers up to shield her eyesÂ
Bang!Â
The widow crashed openÂ
with so much forceÂ
causing loose plaster to fall to the floor Â
She then felt a presence at the foot of her bedÂ
The covers moved slowly away from her eyesÂ
A figure stood floating, with burning red eyes
âThree times rice is my nameâÂ
He cackledÂ
âBelieve me now?Â
See this rope?Â
It has me shackled to this hallowed groundÂ
Please meg please meg set me freeÂ
Cut my rope that swings carefree
THUMP!Â
A knife drops onto the floorÂ
And rolled and stopped just at her doorÂ
And seconds later her feet hit the floorÂ
She grabbed the knifeÂ
Opened her door
Raced down the stairs
And out of the front doorÂ
The mist that surrounded the old oak treeÂ
Surrounded meg as she climbed up the treeÂ
She took the knife and cut the ropeÂ
And with the rope cutÂ
Three times he did floatÂ
A smile graced three times  pale white face Â
Red eyes replaced and gave him grace
he's now moved onto a better placeÂ
Meg returns back to her bedÂ
Knowing he was real but now he is dead
this bad man that used to play tricks with megs headÂ
But once in a while, whilst she sleepsÂ
She stills hears that old oak softly creekÂ

This is really good Jeff. I am impressed at this well thought out ghost story. The description and imagery used so well done man. Iam always a fan of reading paranormal and watching movies and a bigger fan of wriying them, and I enjoyed this a lot. Great write. Peace!
