Punch in the Heart
- To Miss LIU Yanli (劉艷麗), by Yiyan Han(c)
Miss LIU Yanli (劉艷麗) is a human rights activist and political prisoner, charged for “public disturbance” by the Chinese regime, and currently held in prison. Her case details may be found, in Chinese, on http://wqw2010.blogspot.com/2020/05/4.html My Chinese poem, as shown in the image, was the reflection and reaction to her last post in her account banned on a Chinese social media. Yiyan Han(c), last modified 2020-12-10
Long for telling you my deepest feelings
but your account was banned by the cowards
Seeing the eagerness in your eyes
so much regret for my missed chance
Your poem “torture” pens the pain of a heart in bleeding
the weight that a human conscience has been enduring
The Sacred Heart of Jesus is on the cross
and your heart bleeds on the land under communists
I knew nothing when you called out
and when I come you were already locked up
Waiting for the prison gate opens
I shall present you a piece of bloodred rose

Public disturbance in the US is a fine....how do they have enough prisons in China to house all these minor offenses! Seems they can't handle free speech, shines too much light on oppression!
"Public disturbance" is just an arbitrary name used by the regime, and anyone could be charged if daring to criticise the regime or even to do some charity work without permission!
You live in a terrible country Yiyan, don't mean to be disrespectful but while it has amazing history and culture it is a cruel cruel regime. Nice write of admiration for a brave soul 🤗
Thank you, Marion. That's the land of suffering and miserable under communism. Very easy to understand for people in the West by the history of former Soviet Union and East Europe - but the situation is 100 times worse as described in my "Great Duel". Brave hearts are our last hope!
