Relational Disservice

Relational Disservice

I fail to see
what your conclusion
lies in.

We've allowed
minor disagreements
leave us divided.

Blinded
to what we knew
to be truth;
we traded facts
for lies
at the expense
of all we could lose.

Our love,
our friendship,
and these bonds
that held us connected.

All sacrificed for what?
A few coarse words
and a little resentment?

Was it worth it?
Did I really deserve it?

I know I've made mistakes
and far from perfect,
but it doesn't excuse
your part
in this relational disservice.

However,
you should know
I've moved on from that.

Sprinting
for all my legs will lift me
to leave it in the past...

and we are not finished.
Our love will survive
and never diminish.
