Sacrifice

Time passed but not time lost,
Wisdom is the guide but I’m threatened by the cost,
Having less would make you value more,
Better that than the freshest peach denied by the poor,
For the truth I couldn’t believe I valued an angel for which I had
To pretend,     Â
Willingly I gave my heart to fix love I couldn’t mend,
I would rather be hurt than be alone with time,
To sow a smile on a face for pain that wasn’t mine.
I see the rich; they look down upon us,
Living in a world full of temptation and lust,
They value none, and would rather die,
Than to sacrifice, they would lie
That breaks my heart, for this life we couldn’t mend,
Feelings of empty emotions,
I would poor out in glass to glass,
Yet still not enough.
Let it rain,
Let the earth be flooded
With tears and joy,
Not a tub with blood trying to heal the sorrows.
Let the winds be Thy spirit,
Grace an ocean and-
Let us learn to love.
