School Bus Boy

School Bus Boy

You flashed me that beautiful smile,
from across the school bus aisle,
and right there I knew I was done.

you had the bluest of eyes,
that took me by surprise,
and somehow I knew you were the one.

you always found a way to get  me to laugh,
and never made me feel as though I was last,
you knew how to build up my self esteem.

you changed my perspective on life,
for once I wasn’t thinking twice,
about what is wrong with me.

our interactions started to fade,
the second that summer time came,
it was officially our time to part.

i thought of you throughout the days,
and looked at how much things have changed,
I wanted to go back to the start.

I thought that getting to know you again,
Could turn into something more than friends,
However I was deeply mistaken.

you were still thinking as a young boy,
threw me away as if I was an old toy,
you are someone that I’ve deeply forsaken.

over the past several years,
the skies started to clear,
and I realized you weren’t the one.

you were always obsessively focused on,
a relationship that was already gone,
And used me for a bit of fun.

there is something I’d like to say,
my love for you is like yesterday,
it’s one thing I’ve left in the past.

when you make a school bus girl cry,
something inside her lights on fire,
she never needed you and that’s a fact.
