Song of a Native Dream

The sunflowers with lion manes fill the valley for the gold finch to land
The song of the meadow lark dances acoss a field of orange russet velvet like poppies
Mushrooms pop their heads under the pine needlesÂ
The red tailed hawk lurks from a tree limb for his next meal
The dragonfly races by follows the ninno along the stream
The hummingbird drinks the nector from the appricot tree
Natures dream dances free with beautiful petals of purple violets and prancing. white tailed deer
Chanting in the valleys of blue grass and tiny painted daisies lacedÂ
Embrace my heart, embrace my taste, enrich my soul
With beehives honey and sweet berries I will pick from the vines and I shall eat
Running through time, every scent of breath takes the air
Spirits warm heart bronze skin with native eyes
Look across the mountain side across the canoe mirrored rivers shine
And we take hold of dreams that sing of whispered love
Beyond the rocks of stone our people ride horses of honor and great pride
In the far horizon of turquoise a fountain of blueÂ
Dreams sing. a song of. poetry and truth
