Sugary Kisses
(Here in the UK it's National Poetry Day, so Happy Poetry Day to all)
As I sat there pondering the possibilities of life, my soul dissipating into the sands of time, like the many who sat there before me -

Frothy white steeds of the shore, sneaked up and kissed out-stretched toes, retreating quickly, melting towards the horizon β
Β
Watching as they teased, racing back and forth towards the sunset, laughing, tossing, but not quite reaching for another sugary kiss β
Β
Turning and rising up they crashed to the shingles, scattering glistening pearly drops as they sensuously kissed once more β
Β
Mesmerised, sweet-talked by the Seaβs rhythmic aria, singing of the secrets of the ocean and telling stories of each grain of sand β
Β
I will, write my mysteries in the grit of the earth, if tomorrow, you promise to meet me, where the sky caresses the Mermaidβs realm? -
