The Dark Void

The darkness descends and the waters arise
The tears are filling up my eyes
All hope is now lost
Where has it all gone?
While I was busy wasting time
It all went wrong.
Now I’m cold and alone
In the depths of despair
Crouched up in the corner
Hiding behind my hair.
Feeling the cold touch of death
I shudder as I can see my breath.
There is nobody to contact
Nobody to call
Only me on my own
And that is all.
No happiness left
No leaves on the trees
No more sunshine in my life
No more gentle spring breeze.
Just an empty black hole
As emotions whiz round
Just when I thought
I couldn’t sink lower than the ground.
The only way is down
I spiral and fall
Like a sycamore seed
I once had it all.
I was part of the tree
Part of the whole,
Now I’ve been cut loose
This was never my goal.
Of course I was stupid
Of course I was blind
To expect the world
To think all would be fine.
So dark is this hole
And lower I sink
I will end it all
So I can no longer think.
