Lucky Leprechaun

Lucky Leprechaun

In the tall green grasses of clover fields of Ireland
Once covered in pines centuries ago across the mountainous hills
Peeking through a weed or two while making his shoes
A tiny sort of a man hammering the souls for the feet
Irish songs whistle through clover beds
The tiny old man with a pot of gold a myth a legend a fairy tale
Hidden he shall be though if you happen to see
A red headed leprechaun about two inches high
There will be a sparkle in his eye when he winks at thee
It will tickle your fancy and luck he’ll bring
The eyes of a leprechaun are so very keen
Put your new shoes on have a beer and kick up your heels
And dance the dance of an Irish jig and drink the drink
Here’s cheers to you
