The Fool

Maybe, just maybe,
I am the fool.
Trusting in another,
The wound so cruel.
Putting all in,
My heart and soul.
Only to be used,
The loss of control.
Who am I now,
A shattered shell.
Waiting to heal,
The future foretells.
Until the morning,
I will go to sleep.
Dreaming of a new day,
Not one to repeat.

Hey DENISE!!.....it's interesting that you took this tack to deliver such powerful subject matter.....made it feel kinda surreal with the accompanying picture......I REALLY like this.....it's unusual......as though the pain were hiding behind the upbeat-ness of the normal Limerick.....VERY cool!!......ALL STARS!!....It put the agony abandonment in a display case!!.....Creative stuff......well done......LOVE and ROCKETS!!!......T xo ?✳✴☀
I like the uncertainess of this poem, not knowing what's around the corner, but being adventuress and going around anyway. Shows strength of character. A good write.
Thanks for reading, Charlotte. I pull memories from my past and then write about them. Glad to say I'm in a happy marriage now and blessed with a good man. ?
