The mood-hoover

Oh no here she comes
The woman with the issues
Can I grab a cup of coffee
Before I hand you the tissues
It began with a molehill
And you've turned it into a mountain
You've made it into a big deal
Now you're crying like a fountain
I'm sorry I've got no sympathy
I'm usually empathetic
But day in day out
Its getting quite pathetic
If you've got a backbone
Then try to stand up tall
Pick your bottom lip up off the floor
And try to see past it all
You're such a mood-hoover
Sucking up all the fun
I thought we'd ironed this out?
I thought it was all done?
I'm really very patient
But you've managed to grind me down
Before I take my coat off
My smile is now a frown
It's time to smell the coffee
Give everyone a break
The soul-sucking concubine
My soul's not yours to take!

Haha thank you so much!
I'm really very emotional and patient myself (honestly) but some people are just something else! There comes a point in life with everything where you gotta draw a line and just let go.
For someone to make me feel like this they are what I define as a 'mood hoover' haha x
Very good Jayne! Strong words, which are needed sometimes. Sadly, some people feed off sympathy, and I understand, this can become tedious. But rest assured, as empathy and patience doesn't always mean sugar coating your words!
much love.
Haha I totally agree. You have to be assertive sometimes to protect your own emotions and sanity. We can only absorb so much of other people's pain x
Too true Jayne! Also though, a little kick up the ass is just what some people need, instead of the "same old" molly coddling. A true friend speaks their mind, brutally sometimes!
much love.
Totally agree! thanks for your comments John x ?
love the term 'mood-hoover' bye the way, such a very cool poem to read, and 'yes' this personality trait is frustrating beyond human endurance, it's like watching someone get stuck in the same spot (issue) day after day after day; sympathy is hard after a while....I've been trying most of my adult life not to be jaded and cynical, but I imagine even 'Ghandi' may of said, 'WTF!' in certain situations, and I'll pin this one and read it around the upcoming 'sickly sweet' Christmas season, lol....all in all, you said some awesome things here, love the unique phrases, especially the pull quoted...keep on rocking, poet, thanks for a fantastic read
