The Night

The Night

Face shoved into my pillow, tears soaking the case
Toxic thoughts corrupting my wandering mind
Adding to the list of problems to faceΒ
How could the moon make me think things so unkind?
The stars surrounding it took the gleam from my eye
As if enough wasn't taken from me already
Why does Luna love to see me cry?
With so much anxiety I tremble, no longer steady?
I can't stop remembering the horrid things they saidΒ
Sleep is proving to be a thing of the past
If only these thoughts would get out of my headΒ
Peace is something that just doesn't lastΒ
I want to avoid it, but try as I mightΒ
There is no escaping the night...

Brilliant poetry julieanne, the night gives us so much, unexpected thoughts delivered by the shadows of yore, I look forward to more as you find meaning in your obscured thoughts.Β
