The Tide

Time has ran away with us
True friends and brothers scattered like ashes in the wind
The only place that ever felt like home
Was the place I did begin
I only hope we will reunite
And all is not lost like treasures in the sea
Or the place when we all finally do
Is not the funeral where you mourn losing me
I am only a fraction
A splintered fragmented soul
My brothers I miss you deeply
Without you I am not whole
And as time has its way with me
I hope one day the storm subsides
That you'll all be scanning the shoreline
When I ride in on the tide
We are all lost in our own makings
Strings we pulled and followed to the edges
And we're never able to follow it back
We remained mazed in the hedges
But I've kept my candle lit for you
Fond memories have kept me wherever I may roam
Just know I'll be scanning the shoreline
When the tide, it brings you home
