Thoughts XI

Thoughts XI

What’s reflected from the mirror?
     a face devoid of grief
          happiness
rests its soul on me –

Like a cushion near my lower back –
     a new sense of belief
          your lips turned up
          your smile speaks of glee

White teeth I see looking
at me – your only crowd
          taken
to the place of our first meet

I ride along –
     companionship
          turns into romance
          I dare to dream
               a new love meant
to lie and steal and cheat.

To lie – prey, lie with me alone
     to steal another day
     and always cheat mortality away.

Thanks. The first place I saw it used was in the movie Leap Year with Amy Adams
