I gave up on trying to make things better.
I’m sick of always being the ball,
And you always being the batter.
Today I gave up!
I gave up on believing that you will ever be sorry.
You will never admit to any wrong doings,
Even when I’m a distant memory.Â
Today I gave up!
I realized you never wanted me for me.
Rather you needed me for you,
To look good with your new little family.
Today I gave up!
I realized that you’re not who you said you were.
You had no right to lie like that,
But now that doesn’t even matter.
Today I gave up!
I gave up on believing in you.
Why should I?
Just so you can throw that in my face too?
Today I gave up!
But there’s one thing I’d never do.
I would never give up on me.
Today I gave up on you!
