Poem -

WE WEAR THE CROWN

WE WEAR THE CROWN

I didn't see the signs of weakness

I didn't see her falling apart

I saw her bravely fighting

With a strong, courageous heart

I didn't see her giving up

Or abandon herself to despair

I saw her rising up, taking a stand

When life wasn't playing fair

I didn't see a victim, cowering

Or a frightened child, behind a door

I witnessed; A strong, empowered woman

Who declared; I'm not taking anymore

I didn't see the twelve foot walls

I saw, her tearing them apart

I saw her finally breaking free

From a prison, inside her heart

I didn't see a child crying

I saw the fire in her eyes

It's ME; I'm the empowered woman

As I eventually came to realize

My inner child and I; We fought and won

Nothing could keep us down

We faced our fears together

And now; We wear the crown

Thank you Linda.
I guess I've never considered what it takes to win a crown. It takes everything you've got.
I never thought about what it took to EARN one and the fact that it's not tossed to you,   "IT'S PLACED UPON YOUR HEAD WITH HONOR!"
Thank you for your empowering comment!

Thank you Samuel Green. English grammer was a weak subject for me, so when I try to use punctuation- it's probably off. LOL.  Thank you for your comment!
