WHEN SHE WAS VERY LITTLE

WHEN SHE WAS VERY LITTLE

When she was very little
A man took hold of her hand
Her little heart was trusting
She had no idea, what he planned
The world as she had known it
That day, forever changed
Her happy world, her innocence
Became all disarranged
Her eyes grew dark and sad
The beautiful sparkle went out
Her little heart has learned to beat
With anxious fear and doubt
She doesn't sing as she once did
Dark clouds hang over her mind
She hides away and keeps to herself
Since she's discovered the world, unkind
When she was very little
Her heart was playful, light
She'd laugh and dance and sing
But not since that fateful night
