WILLIAMSJI MAVELI WRITES
EVERGREEN

EVERGREEN
From slumber deep, the Earth awakes,
A goddess rising, twilight breaks.
Her gown of inky blue unfurls,
Embroidered bright with morning pearls.
She stretches, yawns, a gentle breeze,
Whispers through rustling leaves of trees.
The scent of dew, a fragrant veil,
As Earth breathes life where shadows trail.
A blush of rose upon her cheek,
The first soft light, the sun will speak.
Her fingers, long and made of gold,
Part the dark clouds, a story told.
Diamonds scattered on the grass,
Diamonds that on the spider's glass
Reflect the dawn, a jeweled crown,
A goddess rising, Earth unbound.
