Windows... (for National Poetry Day in the UK)

In his emergence and in his eyes; of
cloudless skies the sun does shine.
Two little windows, two mirrored pools
fall the starry stars into midnight hues.
Through these apertures full of grace; Β
light is mellowed, tender uponΒ the face.
The moon a guest within the ebony shade,
of all this beauty, from heaven isΒ made.
And, in his eyes the universe does dwell;
where my heart did skip, my heart did fell.
I am lost within the soft brown arid shore
a desolation of brokenness, destiny IΒ bore.
In promise, I await the storm, await the pain,
the lunette, it is streaked with incessant rain.
But, what is left is the oceanβs reflecting lull;
in sad hollowed eyes of empty circling gull.
Tranquil, breathless, in airless infinite, I sleep,
imprisoned through windows ofΒ this soul, I keep.
