Poem -

You left

You left

I'm lost - you left me -Β
why did you pass me by
I need your leadership
your love - your sense that
yes, it's worth a try

Like a tree - standing taller
you lift my sense of being
why did you go
I need you so
you are my fallen beam

A captain for a few years
but a soldier many more
and devoted to a family
at times seen as a chore

Yet your children become leaders
your wife of three score and ten - the sky
go - she is a-waiting
as I shed tears you rise and fly

Hello Owen...

If you were living in the U.S. you'd have a clear understanding of what His economic policies were and how it impacted it's Residents...

We were in Two Recessions and the last one was worst than the Great Depression and violence had risen...

I'm glad you loved the guy...

It's important they do good somewhere...

Thank you for sharing...

Hugs...

Hi sparrowsong,

Apologies for the tawdry reply. I wrote this poem a few moments after hearing about the passing of George H W Bush. I was watching from afar when Bill Clinton was saying; "It's the economy, stupid", and won his first presidential election. Understandable, indeed.
Most Australians probably couldn't tell you much about George H W Bush but that's only to be expected, I guess. We have enough troubles of our own to deal with right now.
Nonetheless, I do have a lot of time for the family as a whole - a true dynasty of a political nature no-one has been able to replicate before or since, (including the Kennedys).
Take care and all the best...
