Chapter 5

Father Tragic

There is a knock on the front door of the Havard home and Tommy Havard opens the door and is met by a young priest.
 
"My name is Father Tragic from St. Johns. I was sent here by Father Burns to bless Catherine Havard’s body. 
 
"Please come in Father...Our Mother is in the den." Tommy leads Father over to his Mother lying on the floor. Father kneels down, blesses Catherine and starts to pray.
 
Tom Havard is still sitting at the kitchen table and looking out the window to the backyard. A light snow starts to fall and cover the grass.  He turns around and sees a woman sitting across the table dressed in a Burgundy Robe. It is Lilith and she is smiling at Tom with Evil in her face.
 
"Can I tell you a little secret Mr. Havard. When the Good Father is not Raping the altar boys he sits in his rectory and drinks himself into a stupor. He drinks because he knows his life is a lie and the liar and phony is on his knees now praying over your dead wife's rotting corpse. Your all a bunch righteous hypocrites. You all make me sick. I have seen all mankind since time began. Blindly praying to a God that doesn't exist in your world. He despises what he created.

Mankind sickens him and he will solve this problem soon. He destroyed man once by a flood. He will do it again by fire. My son offered you a chance at Salvation and you refused him. Have you seen your God once since you started living in your wasteland that you call The Spiritual World?
 
Keep writing in your Journal in hopes of a Judgment Day. Your all fools...Keep praying…keep hoping for Eternal Rapture. Man loving his Creator and killing his fellow man in the name of his God.
 
Did it make you feel good when you killed Mrs. Asaki son the Japanese Pilot? Do you remember you shot his plane down? Did you come in your pants when his plane crashed into your ship? You choose the wrong side! My son gave you a choice and you denied him. Goodbye Mr. Havard." Lilith vanishes from the Havard House.
 
A second knock is heard on the front door and this time Joe Havard opens the door. Joe sees the Funeral Hearse outside.
 
"My name is Robert Spiceman and I am the Funeral Director at the Manion Funeral Home. We are here to help your Mother on her final journey home. May I come in?" 
 
"Tommy Mr. Spiceman is here from Manions Funeral Home."
 
"I  want to personally tell both of you I  lost my Father to Cancer about six months ago. I know what you are going through right now but I give you my word I will treat your Mother as if she were my own Mother. We will give her a proper burial which you will be proud of. Let me also
introduce you to Ed Williams our Hearse Driver." 
 
Tom Havard has been waiting for thirty-three years for the day to arrive when he would embalm his wife. He is a Mortuary Science Graduate of Eckley Mortuary School in Philadelphia. Tom completed an internship at Manion’s after he graduated from Mortuary School.
 
Tom is standing next to Mr. Spiceman and is observing him for bodily possession. Tom knows a Spirit or Soul can only possess another family member who he shares the same blood with or a person he has a strong common identity with. In this case, both men are trained    Morticians and Embalmers and Graduates of Mortuary Colleges.
 
Tom does not want another man touching his wife's body and embalming her. He enters Mr. Spiceman and the possession has taken place with no signs of rejection.   
  
Mr. Spiceman turns to all three sons, "If I can ask the members of the family to leave the room and Ed and myself will prepare Mother for her trip to the Funeral Home."
 
The three sons enter the kitchen and take seats at the table to discuss the Funeral. Joe looks back into the room and sees Mr. Spiceman roll their Mom to one side so they can put a sheet
under her body. They roll the gurney with the Black Leather Body Bag next to the body and try to pick up the body.
 
Joe sees they cannot lift the body and requests his brothers help, "Tommy...Mike let’s give Mr. Spiceman some help lifting Mom." The five men all grab a section of the white sheet and lift the body and place it on the Black Body Bag on the Gurney. Mr. Spiceman zips the bag closed and with his drivers help they push the gurney to the front door and move Catherine out of the house and into the hearse.
 
Mr. Spiceman returns to the Havard Sons and gives them instructions, " Tommy you need to provide us with clothes you want to bury your Mother in. When you come to the home at Noon please bring a dress and shoes for Mom. Mr. Manion will meet with you and you can decide all the details about the Funeral."
 
"All right Mr. Spiceman we will see Mr. Manion at noon." Tommy shakes Mr. Spiceman's hand and Catherine is transported to the Hearse.
 
Father Tragic turns to Tommy, “Once you have made funeral arrangements at Manions please call Father Burns and we will schedule your Mother’s Funeral Mass.”
 
The Havard Sons thank Father for coming and he exits the house.
