Blue Flame

Like a fire, did you enjoy,
What you destroyed?
Did you wait until conditions were just right.
Till there was enough wick to ignite.
You thought I wouldn't crumble.
But that was only a lie you told yourself.
So you wouldn't have to hold me, as you told me.
But she should have known I would fight.
Do you touch her with a caring hand.
The same one that you used to strangle me.
Stroke her, with the same finger tips.
That tore my wings away.
You burned me. On a blue fire.
With flames that burned for me.
And I've never felt such pain.
Blue flame, things will never be the same.
I might as well be given a different name.
I've been burned at stake.
Had all I could take.
Do your cruel lips whisper sweet nothings in her ear.
Do the arms that held me down, now hold her near.
Does she even know you were mine for the longest time.
And now its over, I told you I wouldn't handle it.
You thought it was a threat.
But what you didn't get,
Was that I was telling you I wasn't ready yet.
You needed to hold me.
You needed to stroke my head.
Instead you looked through me.
And we both wished I was dead.
