Circus

Circus

He was taunted and abused by clowns
While people sat on their royal behinds laughing and clapping
As they watched these clowns hammering this poor man to the ground
This man had stiff frizzy hair, thick oil painted face
Hunched back, ragged clothes
And dirt everywhere, so thick that it looked like another layer of skin
Nevertheless contained tolerance that had no measurement
For he took the beating and didn’t even oppose

Kindness he never knew
So cruelty was never an issue
However the people that looked on
In my belief had no humanity
Sure, their pockets were filled
But their chests empty to say the least
He was a human, being treated like a beast.
