The Darkness Promised
The darkness was as the promised
A hole
A place of no return
The occasion where the light at the end of the tunnel
Is a train
The berth where cobwebs collect
And dust resides
Over jars of souls that once were
The dwelling of sin and promised happiness
One promise yet to be fulfilled
The locus of depths one still must experience
The low you must reach before the high
A musty corner
In which sits misery
Her glowing eyes attract you
Into a pit out of which you will never return
The residence of loneliness
Though you're never truly alone
The whereabouts of a witch
A demon
A beast whom you cannot escape
Or so it seems to you
You narrow minded fool!
Can you not see life?
One comes this way to save your ill-fated soul
You who are sunken
Breathe this new vitality
Regain your strength
You desperate soul
Here comes a Savior
A kind of which you've never seen
He comes to save you from yourself
And the nature so deeply hurried within you
Take this hand
And see
See the world you never knew
As misery leaves her corner
Take up your new beginning
And live again
