Fristers

Love runs deeper than blood is red
and as one that can relate,
unconditional friendship is deeply cherished
bigger than any scale could hope to rate.

It can develop at any point in life,
sometimes when the least expected;
through work, tragedy, or play
grows a bond effortlessly perfected.

The most amazing of times spent
can be doing nothing in particular at all...
just capturing moments to catch up on life
becomes the most priceless gift of all.

When opportunities do present themselves
for concerts or a girls’ night out,
new memories & laughter easily abound,
golden treasures beyond any doubt.

Transparency comes so naturally,
comfortable with each other’s quirks;
vulnerability crawls out of hiding...
just one of the many perks.

Humbled to be called her angel friend,
it's an honor to fulfill that role…
she’s my steadfast emotional sister,
one that makes me feel completely whole.

My prayer is my daughters find this…
a kinship so warm it blisters,
one that can only be described as this-
quite simply,
God made us “fristers”.
