Growing Old

Growing Old

Is something that tends to sneak up on you.
While 30 years ahead seems so far away
That you give it no thought - you have no clue
Until 30 years later when you wake up and say
Where in the world has the time gone to?

So IĀ take another look in the mirror and see
Some guy with grey hair looking back at me.
He has hair growing out of his nose and ears.
ToĀ think this is me brings me to tears.

For in my mind I'm still a young, vibrant man
Up to any task or challenge at hand.
But what's this pain in my arm and shoulder?
To the Doctor I go as I ponder growing older.

"Just arthritis" he says - "learn to live with it"
"Whaaa!!" like a baby I feel like throwing a fit.
But no, I will be an adult and face my fate.
And live to the fullest until referred to as "the late"

Hi Kenneth, lovely write. It's scary a times when I think of what it would be like being older. I guess like you said we have to face our fate.

Warm regardsĀ
