Heart Is A Clock

Heart Is A Clock

I was born with a curious heart,
Wasn't sure what I needed to do,
Surrounded by people that loved me,
I would love but only a select few.

In twenty eleven a new heart,
A new love opened the world to me.
It was different to the love I was used to,
A love from a child unconditionally.

I had found my soul mate for life,
But that love it seemed wasn't tight,
But at least I know where to find her,
Far away but still in plain sight.

That love was smashed to pieces,
And sadness and depression woke,
Awaiting construction of my new heart,
Because the last one I had just broke.

I am not sure how many loves we have,
Is the heart just a ticking clock,
Eventually will it run out of power,
Will time restore a new heart, restock?

At the moment I am wary of all love,
I couldnt handle another broken heart,
Which is unfair to a future partner,
A doom installed from the start.

The fish of the sea

What a powerful write. I'm not here to offer advice. Just find what works for you my friend, get to know yourself and where you stand. You poem is fantastic and is a creative display of the message you are conveying. Kudos! Pecae and smiles. TFOTS

Thank you for your kind words. In the past I have tried to write down my feelings, but it would only make the other party involved angry or hurt. I am working on it.

Time will restore the clock of heart. Quite interesting as most people think human brain is a clock :) Good piece.

Thankyou, I wanted the heart to be represented by a clock, or more to the point, time itself.

That sounds like a happily ever after story, but I like it, Thanks Cherie
