Morbid Themes (Sonnet)

 MORBID THEMES                                                           
 
For empty are those whose love ponders jest,
when it’s become the folly of bad dreams.
These dreams may haunt each written word, at best,
while some may seem shy of morbid themes.
 
These themes enrich one's appetite, not for,
the evil one reads, but it invigorates
the style, that's penned, pictured, and even more,
for evil words don't evil thoughts create.
 
Farewell to the horrors made lethargic,
and brought on by casual indifference.
But Edgar's writings keep it dramatic,
creating themes where fear's the consequence.
 
One being scared may come by many themes
but at this rate, are these themes all but dreams?
