Our Hands Touch

To brave the cold of winter to know where water frozen
Shall thaw in spring and bring us rain
The ice shall melt away and we shall fill our hands with water
We shall bathe in the rivers and our horses shall plenish
Our canoes shall flow down the waters stream
Where we shall catch fish and feast later over fire flames
The touch of our hands shall plant seeds for our future
Where our crops of corn, wheat, bean, we shall harvest
We build our home on this land, the strength of the callused hand
Our women give birth to our children thier skin soft their fingers so tiny
Grow up in this native land where the Cherokee have touched this earth
And shall feel the dreams of beauty and sereniity
