Saving grace

Saving grace

The window carried freedom’s reign
And shed light upon the altar
But when the gust turned to breeze
The daylight surely faltered

The willow brought only tears of joy
To the festival’s oration
Yet when those tears wallowed
They drew fields of desecration

The wander walks beside the grave
Those passed would dance upon
Cocooned within a life transformed
(But a trickle in the pond)

The wonder went passed avenues
Of days and nights deluded
But thoughts and feelings came to thee
And in a sigh – exuded

The wondrous winter afternoon
An epiphany – a state
That sends a sense of wherewithal
Their one last saving grace
