The Cross of Love

The cross on the hill

The cross of love

Such a display of  love

Stained with the blood of love

Which gives me hope

Exuding so much pain

All for my gain

For debts never owed

But for sins I had done

Oh! The wondrous cross

Borne at a high cost

That bears my shame

All meted on one so lame

One who is very holy

Yet very lowly

Why did He do it?

He shouldn’t have done it

But to bear my sins

Which has created such a chasm

And to reconcile me to God

What a wonderful mediator I got

Who  can give his life for all?

Taking upon Him the sins of all?

But to establish a relationship with the father

Which I didn’t think matters

He has freed me from captivity

I no longer live in negativity

The only way is to believe and accept Him as the only way

That is an assurance that I too can be resurrected on the last day

I can resurrect like He did

And to dwell with Him forever, that’s the deed

What an undeserved favour of God’s grace

Oh! May God's name be praised!
