The Lady And The Dog

There was an old lady,
Who was going to the shop,
She went to buy something,
But she simply forgot.
"I know I needed something,
But what could that be?
I wish I could remember,
Oh forgetful old me!"
Before she left home,
She had written a list,
But forgot to pick it up,
Cos her mind went adrift.
"I left it on the table,
Right next to me tea.
I shall have to go home,
Oh forgetful old me!"
So she turned around,
And slowly shuffled home,
came across an old dog,
Searching for his bone.
"I Buried it somewhere,
By a large tree,
But I still can't find it,
Oh forgetful old me!"
The old lady and old dog,
We're helping each other,
For both items lost,
Which they hoped to recover.
"Come with me little dog,
And I'll give you a bone,
Once I find my list,
Which I left at home"
They opened the door,
Couldn't believe their eyes,
But there on the table,
Was a big surprise.
There a bag sat,
With a bone on top,
She only forgotten
She had been to the shop.
