The roof of the sun

I stood on the roof
Of the sun looking down
Through the cloud to the grass
In a world that was buoyed
My mind wandered and strayed
Then raced with the wind
Unbeknownst to the lure
Of happiness void
I fell to the floor –
The unedified earth
And looked through the trees
To the stars that alight
They changed direction
Without me knowing they had –
Anxiety’s outlet
Pallid of sight
Desire defended
The sensual sun
Clouds so dark they could cry
And render life’s path
As a sigh heard afar
If not for the heat
That led to a place
Hiding defeat
Effecting emotion
Atoned to alone
Blissfully bashful
Fumbling her way through the zone
Blue sky on high
From the sun to the sea
Happiness running –
Arms open –
To me
