The Snake Bite

The dessert dust kicks up a whirling wind
As my Cherokee people sleep sound
Though the sound of thunder is not grey but white
It rides with a venomous snake the white of men in furry
Our children waken the horses arrouse and we fight like enemies in war
But what we are fighting for is our own
Our own rights to live freely on our founded ground
But the bite of the snake leaves his mark
And we pick up where we started across the land we believe in

This poem is one of my all-time favourites from you Nancy. Thing is, I have no clue how you have managed it, but you have created such a fast-paced and engaging read. No rhyme or clean beat... maybe it has to do with syllable counting. Manificent poetry. I`m speechless.
Why thank you so much!! I KNOW IT IS CRAZY GOOD isnt it LOLš
