The table
The Table
Warming fulfilment within dainty cups
Tears of sentiment, joy, pain and laughter
Each feature drama we need to catch up
Vulgar crap flows without an extractorÂ
Friendships hold firm, people that get me
Our odd little ways fit in this huddle
Patter flows free, much joyous mockery
All life's demands, or just for a cuddle
Â
Mind altering tales of memories past
relationship woes, who's partners an arse
Most of them are, though most of them last
Always at ease, gossip never feels sparse
Almost the school run, that clock it does tick
This time next week, for more of your shit

You know...a cuppa and fag with a mate has probably got me through most of my life....I love this write x
Thanks Marion,  back in the day a huddle of ladies, using their chat and thoughts collectively were veered and persecuted as witches..when in reality they were probably just putting the world right and having a bit of a natter....this "circle or table" is now used in the board room but dominated by business (or men) once they realised the power of shared communication....the bliss of getting your gripes out with your trusted people its pricelessÂ
hope your are well

Hey Lorna we all need a bit of the old merriment and mirth in life to get us through and glad to say you delivered it here in spades.

Oh Lorna, this reminds me of home, a cup of tea can sort it all out, I'm British but I live abroad you cannot imagine how much I miss this scene. Love this đš
Thanks Shirley, it's funny as my mams kitchen table was always the hub of the street growing up, and now its replaced with similar friendship group or family tables that I often natter around
It is a very british tradition....i think id really miss it if I moved away
funny such a simple thing
