Unbelievable

The one question I was asked
“ why now?” Why not years ago?
Thing is it’s not something I could speak about
It’s not something my mind could
Just let go
What proof did I have that it actually happened
Other than the internal scars it left 
Upon my heart 
Where my innocence was taken
Completely torn apart
“ I don’t believe you” 
“ you’re lying”
Only they don’t understand I’m trying 
To speak my truth 
To finally come clean 
Inside of my head I just want to scream

I was being dramatic 
According to them
Only I will never forget what happened
I didn’t deserve it 
Not at all, not one bit.
