Who will sniff the sniffs for me

Who will sniff the sniffs for me

When i am gone and family weep beside my bed for my last sleep. My body worn my coat now grey he was a good dog some may say.

The fells lie quiet the woodland still the lake the pond the lonely hill. These places remain
So i just carnt see who will sniff the sniffs for me ?

The deers steps will go unraced the big fat rabbits with fury face will cry for they will miss the chase through fields forests at spaniel pace.
For my old body lies under tree so who will sniff those sniffs for me?

Pheasant rest on bright blue eggs for no dogs there to test her legs. Rain and wind now go unfelt, trees and lamposts go unsmelt. Through heather lept and bracken went all those years a life well spent.

But now im gone i fail to see who will sniff those sniffs for me ?
