A blanket

A blanket is nice.
It is cozy and warm.
It makes some feel safe,
Protected.
The blanket gets used.
It gets worn,
And then torn.
Until there is nothing more.
Until the only use left for it,
Is to be thrown away.
It's useless,
Uncared for.
The only thing left for it to do,
Is to smother you.
Because you too,
Are nothing more than a blanket.
