Escape

Am I in a cage of wire made of metal
Or is this a room where no one dares to enter
My food is left in a pan outside the gate
Is this a shelter for the insane
Why do I have chains and locks around my neck
Why can I not be free to run the fields
I am an animal climbing the rocks and swinging the trees
My eyes see through the walls, my ears hear the lions call
The zoo that keeps me, does not know me by name
I am a wild beast that must be free
Hear me pant, hear me scream, know I am not just an ape
But a living thing that must be freed
Let me escape from captivity

The fish of the sea

A very clever analogy, using a zoo to display how you feel captive... I think we all feel captive in some sense. Although I hope poetry makes your feel most free~ Enjoyed Nancy. Along with all your other recent work. (I`ll catch up soon more, promise XD)
