Half-Century Manifesto

I I Stopped working and wrote this
I I don’t want the mansion on the hill anymore
I I want the cabin in the Pine Barrens
I I want to chop wood
I I want to paint
I I don’t want sex
I I want companionship
I I want to have coffee with you in the morning
I I want to fish for my dinner
I I want stop saying I I
I am going to work on cars
I am going to build a cabin
It took half-century for me to calm down
But I still want a TV

Hey MARK!!........this is definitely worthy of promotion ~ FB and beyond........It's so Henry David Thoreau!!!.........it's gorgeous in its honesty........as well as its delivery!!..........LOVE it bro!!........ALL STARS.........Love and Rockets!!..........T xo
Tony thank you my man in Chicago
I can almost hear Christopher McCandless shouting his applause at this work of candid brilliance, Mark. And for the record, I share every last sentiment of this piece. I am 29 years old and working a dead-beat, pointless office job in Dubai, and it is a decision I had to make, to allow me to try to pursue a Thoreau-esque lifestyle, such as the one described in this awesome poem. Mark my words, humanity is returning to the understanding and will towards the simplistic and truthful nature of the natural world, slowly but surely. This poem really does need to be shared, everywhere! Live it out, my friend. Peace be with you, Mr. Thomas! :)
Jaime thanks for your great comments!! Love your reference of McCandless.... You know when i was young you could not get out the woods or fishing all the time... The constant pursuit of money sex and quick gratification and need to accumulate things is a trick... Its a anchor point to hold you prisoner in the material world!!! So glad you liked this write... Dubai wow i have been there !! Best wishes to you my friend and thank you!!!
