Professional snail Shelly (for the kids)

Today I saved a snail from drowning,
That's if they drown at all,
I've never seen them doing backstroke in a swimming pool.

Imagine watching a professional snail,
On the diving board,
His goggles sliding down his head,
Cos his eyes are too far forward.

It would be a slow start as he glides to the end,
He could even be on the telly,
But you'd grow old waiting around for professional snail Shelly.

Go faster stripes but no wrist bands,
That would be just silly,
They don't need any swimming trunks,
It's not like they get chilly.

The crowd is cheering out his name,
"Go professional snail Shelly"
He jumps up high and starts to dive 
Then lands smack on his belly.
